Two oci angels

On our firs visit with Fuzzy we had an experience that we did not expect. As Fuzzy's shadow there was Ilmari, Fuzzy's brother, right there behind her making his presents known to us. Slowly but very strong he was making his way to our hearts and was determined there to stay. As we did not even think of having two ocicats the idea of it was blossoming in our minds with every singel look at Ilmari.
Back home it did not take us long to realize that not one but two wonderfull oci angels have stolen our hearts and were making there way into our lives.
We are so grateful to Dorotea that she decidet that she will trust us with both of her amazeing oci kittens.
Strangely it fills like Fuzzy and Ilmari have chosen us and not the other way around.

Kangaroo cats

I have been working on my laptop the whole morning, and I have two little angels keeping me company. First Ilmari came looking for me, and he tried to settle somewhere in my lap, but could not find a proper place, so I packed him in my sweater, like a kangaroo. They of course, couple of minutes later his shadow has arrived, so I packed her too.
Now they are sleeping like little angels, only their heads are visible, and of course, Fuzzy's paw as she is hugging Ilmari, as always :):)
They are so cute, I have the whole bunch of housework waiting for me, but I just cannot get up and disturb them.
They are here for only a short while, and everything else can just wait.

Nap time

The only time when kitten photos can be taken,as every ociperson will tell you, is when they are sleeping. If you are lucky enought to catch them still a little bit asleep, but with eyes already opened, just before their energy bursts and they start exporing the world, you might get lucky and actually get a nice photo or two:)

Well, at least I tried..) The whole family was sleeping on the top of the sisal tower we have in the kitchen.

Here are portraits:

Ilmari

Doesn't he look like he is smiling? :)

Fuzzy the cute, Ilmari the gentle

Ilmari is Fuzzy's shadow. They are both so gentle, but Fuzzy is the boss. She is moving Ilmari around her finger, looking innocent...but Ilmari is being washed when she decides to, and he plays when she decides too..or not.:D
Take a look at the video :)

Actually, I think he just lets her think she is the boss, out of kindness of his heart ;).

New home video

Fuzzy and Ilmari are the sweetest babies ever. But being ocibabies, they have their wild side. :)

Sweet Fuzzy

Spring has come to pay us a short visit before it arrives to stay, the day was extra sunny and warm and kittens have been granted a free access to the balcony. Even the two reconvalescents, as nothing is better for restoring strenght than a long nap in the sun.

I was in my room, doing some computer work, with Harski being my shadow as always, even if it means missing the first rays of sushine.

Something so sweet happened. I heard a kitten calling in the living room, in a way they usually do when they are lost or confused as they think they are alone. I called it, so I could be traced by the sound of my voice.
And sweet Fuzzy came running to me, her tail up in the air, purring and walking high on her toes, like a little balerina. She climbed to my lap, ( she still cannot jump properly, but is closer to it every day ) strolled on the keyboard ( her version of cat walk :D) and snacked my fingers. It was so sweet. She came to check on me, and see if I am ok,she just cannot stay away from humans too long.
Not a couple of minutes later, Ilmari came running, not as gracefully as Fuzzy, he is a realy growing boy with extremities growing too fast to be co-ordinated. He did the same little ritual, just not saying hello to me first, but checking on Fuzzy first. He licked her and they run away back to the balcony.

It was such a lovely little intermezzo in my work, and it was so sweet it made my heart sing. I wish I had the camera to share it with Barbara.

Now the little prince charming is in the steam bath, having his nose unblocked and complaining about it.
Fuzzy is breathing ok by now, and I do not want to steam cook her today. She does not want to leave Ilmari alone, I have to occupy her with something else.
So I have made a cangaroo pouch out of my sweater and we are making popcorns.
She has been intimidated by the sound at the beginning, but in true Indiana Jones spirit she has had to see what is happening.
I have changed cover on the pan with transparent one and she just loves seeing them fly when they snap.

Ocicat sport - flying popcorns :D

Now excuse us, we have to go and rescue Ilmari, and I might be back when I leave him to Fuzzy the nurse for the comfort and treatment.

Get well soon Fuzzy

Today we found out that Fuzzy has a cold and we got worried. However we are in peace knowing that she is in good hands and that she is being taken care of.
This is just for Fuzzy: Get well soon our little princess!!!
We are grateful to all that are taking such a good care of her. Thank you, thank you so much!

Fuzzy has a cold

Fuzzy was sneezing during the night, and in the morning her eyes and nose were running.

Seems that she has caught a cold, I think it is normal as we have had guests and all sorts of viruses are usually brought in the house on shoes and trousers.

It is, in my eyes, a part of normal process of building up kitten's immune system. Point is, that as kitten is growing up, it develops a strong immune system that can fight all kinds of viruses and bacteria, not to keep a kitten in a glass bubble, building a false feeling of security that is is healthy, as it has to crash on the first touch with outside world.

I take care that she eats well, she gets KMR kitten milk, as I know she likes it, and my mum brought her fresh fish, so she is really pampered.
She is a bit more calm and sleeps on her heating pad, but she gets up to check on us every now and then. I think it is her way to defend herself from the extra attention she is getting :D

I have decided to give her homeopathy, but as it takes some time for remedy to be made, and I did not want to wait until tomorrow, as I want to catch the cold in an early stage, I have called a friend in Italy and she is sending me remedy by bus.
We will pick it up and she will have it before evening. :)

How many teeth a fish has?

Let's see...

IMG_3783

This was taken on saturday night. Fuzzy does appreciate a good fish, but only if it s grilled, all bones removed, of moderate temperature and nicely served in her little plate on an absorbent pad.
No, she does not need a napkin. At least not yet, thank you for asking.
A little gourment girl, right from the start.

So, a raw fish? No thank you:D

Our princess Fuzzy

The day begain with great expectation of finally meeting our princess.
We were so excited to meet Fuzzy for the first time that we arrived an hour early.
We have been watching her from very beginning of her beautiful life and now that time has come to meet her in person, we just couldn't wait.
It was like the time has stoped and there was nothing else but true joy and delight in the room. My eyes were wet and my heart melted when I saw the little princes. She was every thing and so much more that I imagine her to be.
We can not exppres with words how grateful we are that they decided to trust us with Fuzzy.
It feels like we are expanding our family and not just geting a new member.
All that we talk about now is how to prepare our home for her arrival.
Till then we will visit her some more. And we can't wait for that moment to come.

New parents, new home, new life- Fuzzy's story :)

Yesterday afternoon, Fuzzy had a visit.
She waited for her parents sleeping on the top of the cat tower close to the kitchen window, wrapped in a red plush cloth of the heating pad, in her favourite position.
I could say it was love on the first touch, she felt so safe, that when her new mum touched her, she did not even bother to open her eyes, she just rolled a bit more to expose her belly for scratching.
Then, slowly and lazy she opened her eyes, not at all alarmed to be touched by strangers, it felt more like she was greeting some old friends.
And that moment, I just knew she has chosen. And she has chosen well, we did not lose a family member, but gained new friends instead.

From now on, this is her blog.:)
I will be writing her diary for a little while, during the weeks she is still staying with us, and at the same time her parents will have be documenting their preparations for her arrival.
